A Shared Culture Video

I think that sharing among artists is a great thing. It seems a bit silly to try and control an idea as it is not even a physical thing. People have similar ideas all of the time and the disputes over whether or not they copied someone else or stole something is kind of ludicrous. It is a bit overrated to try and dominate an idea and not allow anyone to work with it. Yes you may have created something original, and you hold it near and dear. Okay. However, if it is something that can inspire others, why not let them run with it. Their new creation is not stolen, they just took something new and built upon it to make their own thing. Is that not what all of us do when we make anything? We absorb the physical world around us as well as ideas and those things are what inspire us and give us ideas for our art. Is that not then stealing from nature? It sounds ridiculous, honestly.
